YouTube Theater – May 10, 2026

I follow Rodrigo Y Gabriela on Instagram so I saw this was coming as soon as they announced their tour. I was hoping for LiveNation Concert Week tickets so I held off buying tickets when they dropped figuring I could buy them later if Concert Week didn’t pan out. Lo and behold, Concert Week did pan out so I got $30 tickets! I invited my cousin and she was free. It turns out I had previously raved about Rodrigo Y Gabriela to her and she’d been listening to them.

Parking at YouTube Theater is up to $38.50 if you pay in advance (and $50 if you pay when you arrive!) so we took a Lyft and I arranged for my husband to pick us up. In the past, I’ve had him pick me up on Century just east of Prairie but he had said he wouldn’t do that anymore because traffic is always awful – especially if there is an event at Intuit Dome, as there was this evening. I suggested he pick us up at Arbor Vitae and Prairie instead and that worked really well. There are two parking lots – a 7-Eleven and a strip mall with a Snoop Dogg dispensary and both are easy to get into and out of.

About a week before the show, Rodrigo Y Gabriela announced that it was the 20th anniversary of their first album and they would be playing the first album in its entirety. Yay! They played several other pieces once they completed the first album, including one that they had recently recorded in Japan. As they explained they had drawn inspiration from an anime show and the show’s creator turned out to be fans of theirs.

I don’t know how many times I have seen Rodrigo Y Gabriela but this was at least my 4th time and they never disappoint. They weave a spell and the audience is captivated. We had decent seats for $30, but honestly, it doesn’t matter where you sit for Rodrigo Y Gabriela, you will be drawn into the magic. If you ever have a chance to see them, don’t pass it up!
